I had a much needed holiday from work last week, I caught up on my weather scarf which I have sadly neglected a little (*must do better*). Watched some movies and tv show, got my hair cut and generally chilled out.
On Friday A and I set off on a much anticipated camping trip to Wales with friends.
We chose a campsite by the Wnion River near Dolgellau. I got loads of time with Itaca in the car and its progressing really well!
The drive was great fun, we took two cars and had walkie talkies to keep in contact!
The campsite didn’t disappoint…
This is the main entrance, the reception and facilities are all located there along with the static caravans and the main camping areas.
As there was a group of 5 of us we got the field opposite the campsite away from the families. We’re not a noisy bunch but we like to stay up late and we don’t want to disturb anybody.
The field was really big, we parked the cars at the top of the slope and ferried everything down.
It was empty so we had our pick!
We got a spot under a big tree right by the river
We pitched our tents around the fire pit and made ourselves at home…
Everyone had a brilliant night eating, drinking and toasting marshmallows on the fire!
On Saturday we went into Dolgellau and got some food from the local shops.
Then after chilling out in the sun for a bit we went for a walk to take in the scenery and build our appetites for dinner.
Then back to the campsite for a bbq and another night by the fire.
I can’t resist taking pictures of glow sticks!
Before I knew it the morning came, plenty of time for breakfast and then packing up…
Had an absolutely fab weekend, would highly recommend the campsite and came back totally relaxed. Good times with great friends plus tons of knitting time!
